America the Apologist

The Obama’s had 3 goals at the G20 Summit last week:

To shore up support in Afghanistan from our European counterparts.

To encourage European countries to adopt similar “stimulus” spending bills.

For Michele to dazzle European sophisticates with her high end wardrobe.

They only accomplished 1-3.

However, our media is still portraying the Obama’s visit to Europe as “wildly successful”. Why? Again, this is more style rather than substance, which is obviously at the heart of Obama’s success.

I suppose if a 4th goal was to trash his own country in order to suck up to the Europeans, then I he accomplished more than I initially gave him credit for. The following is a quote from his speech in France:

"Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive."

The act of throwing your own country under the bus in order to gain favor from the Europeans has been a favorite past-time of the libs. Is it painfully redundant to point out the fact that the French would be goose stepping and speaking German had the “arrogant” Americans not liberated Paris?

Disparaging your own country on foreign soil may be okay for the Dixie Chicks….but our own president? I’d like to think he is running out of the goodwill cheaply gained from bashing Bush……then again.....they really seemed to hate that guy!
