6th Grade Science

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed — and hence clamorous to be led to safety — by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." - H.L. Mencken

A comment from one of our comrades got me thinking about the absurdity of manmade Global Warming and its exaggerated effects…..

The following theory may have some holes, so please feel free to fill them in if you can.

Have you ever set down a glass filled to the brim with water and ice and worried about it overflowing once the ice has melted? No?

So, why are we concerned about melting icebergs raising our sea levels?

It seems like a simple case of water displacement learned in a 6th grade science class. Water takes up more space when frozen, so when it melts, it should not cause an overflow.

Am I missing something here?

You've got it all wrong. You're using logic when you should be focused on how to get rid of these big bad oil companies exploiting our planet for their own profits and all the while doing nothing for the common man. Either that or you missed out on the IPO for Gore's carbon credit company.
