"There is a power so organized, so subtle, so complete, and so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it." - Woodrow Wilson
Conspiracy theorists have been gaining attention recently regarding their suspicion of a growing number of “Bilderberger” appointees in the Obama administration.
Apparently, each year 100 to 150 leaders in politics, finance, military, industry, academia and media from North America and Western Europe meet at the Bilderberg Conference. The conference is named after the Dutch hotel in which the first meeting was held in 1954.
Unlike similar high profile conferences, the Bilderberg conference is closed to the press, members are told not to discuss proceedings, and the attendee list is rarely released. Bilderberger recently released a vague press statement in response to inquiries….they claim to be creating “a better understanding of the complex forces and major trends affecting Western nations.”
Past attendees have included Margaret Thatcher, Bill Clintom, Tony Blair, Condoleeza Rice, and Donald Rumsfeld.
Obama’s recent appointees with Bilderberg ties include Kathleen Sebelius, Timothy Geithner, Larry Summers, and Paul Volcker.
There have been many websites and groups devoted to learning and broadcasting the clandestine meetings and those that participate. A large amount of these conspiracy theorists have been supportive of Ron Paul in recent years. Although Ron Paul does not necessarily mirror their concerns regarding Bilderberger, he has voiced suspicion.
“I don’t laugh at the people who claim that they understand the connections, but I’ve never really spent much time tracing that through,” said Rep. Ron

Ron
“The one thing that concerns me is that the people who surround Obama or Bush generally come from the same philosophic viewpoint and they have their organizations – they have the Trilateral Commission, the CFR [Council on Foreign Relations] and the Bilderbergers, and they’ve been around a long time. And my biggest concern is what they preach: Keynesian economics and interventionism and world planning,” He said.
Ron Paul is obviously concerned with the power structure that appears to have been cemented into place in national politics. This takes us to the main question…..is it only natural that the dominant members of politics, industry and media will meet with each other to discuss major issues and network? Or has this reached the point where there is a concerted effort by Bilderberg to influence and dictate Western policy?
These are good questions and cannot be easily answered! I personally contend that those in power will, of course, magnetize towards each other and these types of conferences are a natural place to do it. Those in power must network and pat each others’ backs every now and again. The powerful who feel they have value to others in power must remain relevant and keep their name on the tips of tongues.
Many conspiracy theories hold water, but can often be blown out of proportion. People are naturally scared of chaos, and the idea of a concerted effort by a secret group to dictate the world’s policy helps to wrap a complex world up into a nice little package. Just as religion helps to ease the uncertainty of life, I feel many conspiracies are developed to explain the unexplainable. But to deny the idea that those in power work secretly amongst themselves to secure their place and develop policies to ensure their survival would be very naïve.
Keep a watchful eye on the Bilderbergers appointed by Obama…..they may have inside information on the next arrival of the Hail Bop Comet!
