More Lofty Rhetoric
You know, when I cooked pizzas for CiCi’s, our slogan was “under promise, over deliver”. This way, the customer is never disappointed, which would have been easy considering the quality of their pizza! Well, the unrealistic expectations showered upon Obama seemed to have guided much of his agenda off the starting blocks. He has spent most of his time attempting to lower the expectation bubble, while also trying to steer this country out of a recession.
Okay, so his dire talk regarding the economy may not have a made a HUGE impact on the stock market, but it certainly lowers consumer confidence and probably hasn’t inspired many….. except for those who will receive instant gratification in the form of tax “refunds”.
Obama finally listened to his handlers last night and claimed responsibility for leading this country out of this recession. He realized that the honeymoon of blaming Bush will soon be over, and the blood of the economy will soon be on his hands. But, once again, we witnessed soaring rhetoric void of substance or specifics. Ambiguous as always. I don’t know about you, but I have seen little in his first month which has indicated he truly has the ability or desire to steer us out of this mess. Or the intent to match campaign rhetoric with substance. Maybe we should slow down all the FDR talk for a bit! Let’s hope he is sincere, but always keep in mind this man has never run a business, been responsible for a budget, or believed in the free market principles that have made this country great. But, he does a great job reading a teleprompter….most of the time! Watch him motion at his eyes to indicate that the teleprompter is malfunctioning! (video above)
Listen VERY closely to MSNBC’s host, Chris Matthews, as Jindal enters the room….. "Oh God!!!”……

Without lowered expectations, how is the American public supposed to come to accept "change" and mediocrity? It's why I'm still married to Bill....

"You map out a flight plan or a life plan. But when the action starts (Obama's tenure?), you're down to your reflexes...that's where your road work shows. If you cheated on that in the dark of the morning, you're getting found out now under the bright lights"

Wow...that quote was so "dead on" it was eerie! I'm sure that'll find it's way onto a post soon.
